“Imagine buying a beautiful house complete with a finished basement and then finding out the first week that the basement floods whenever there is a heavy downpour. It was our bad luck that we did not have to imagine this, as it really happened to us shortly after we closed on our house.
After reviewing multiple waterproofing and basement experts, we were referred to Vulcan from a good friend. That’s when our luck changed. After a quick, no pressure, survey, we scheduled the installation. We particularly like the letter we received shortly before the installation date. It poked fun at how messy and dirty the process would be (especially in a finished basement). We needed that light heartedness during that time of our lives.
After we moved and covered up all the furniture in the basement, the Vulcan team arrived and expertly installed the pressure relief system in the affected areas of the basement. They were in and out in a matter of hours. Although the basement was dirty due to the necessary jack-hammering, we were expecting it be a lot worse. The Vulcan team cleaned up whatever mess there was. In a short time, we were able to restore our basement back with the exception of keeping the furniture away from the drying concrete. Because of an improperly installed window well drain (installed by the previous owner), we had to welcome your team back a second time to install a window well drain that connected to the original relief system. Both times, the Vulcan team was quick, professional and got the job done. The premise seems so simple but it works! Don’t try to stop water, just simply redirect it. Whatever the physics, we are proud to say that the impacted areas are now water-free.
The investment in the pressure relief system will pay dividends, by saving the foundation of our house and retaining (if not increasing) the value of our home. Now, we don’t have to continuously watch the Weather Channel all the time, worrying about the next thunderstorm. Thanks for giving us our basement back, Vulcan!”
“I recently retained your company's service to install a waterproofing system in my basement. So what makes me different from your thousands of other customers?
Well, seven years ago I purchased a “Basement Waterproofing” franchise. This was a nationally represented company that sold me their “waterproofing knowledge” to help compliment my existing contracting business. Unfortunately I learned the hard way that their method of waterproofing a basement wasn’t worth a dime. As a well respected contractor I no longer wanted to be associated with their name.
During the engineering inspection of my new home, I became aware of an existing basement water situation that had been obviously festering for years.
At that point I knew one thing for certain. I wasn’t going to install anything other than an interior pressure relief system. I contacted several waterproofing companies that I was aware of and also called in Vulcan due to a recommendation. Phil Appleton promptly came out from your company and gave a fair estimate with a “no pressure” sales approach. Boy was that refreshing. I quickly selected Vulcan for the job.
On the scheduled day, at the scheduled time, your crew arrived. From the minute that Eddie Ladson (crew foreman) stepped out and told me he was in charge, I knew that I had made the right choice with Vulcan. The men were polite, quick and extremely proficient at their job. It was obvious they had done this many times before. Eddie was an excellent foreman and ran a tight ship. He worked very hard and the others followed suit. On several occasions he stopped to consult me on what he was doing and why he was doing it. You should realize how fortunate you are to have an employee that possesses excellent working skills in conjunction with a great attitude and ability to communicate effectively.
I am not a person who is normally predisposed to hyperbole. In fact, I believe this is the first letter of recommendation I have ever written. However, the comments are unsolicited and the praise is just. Please thank Eddie and the crew one more time for a job well done.”
“A wet leaky basement had been an issue for us for many years... Recently we sold our house in Montauk, NY and it is my honest belief that the main factor that enabled us to get our asking price, was the vulcanizing your people did on our basement a couple of years ago. Since the basement waterproofing by Vulcan was done, not one drop of water has been found in the basement!
Dollar for dollar, I cannot think of a better investment in our home than the money we spent to have Vulcan take care of our basement water problem. Moreover, let us not lose sight of the contribution this made to better healthy living conditions. Vulcan basement waterproofing fixed our leaky basement, and made our wet basement dry so that we could take full advantage of our basement and enjoy it to the maximum.
My gratitude is so great that I could never stop singing praises of Vulcan basement waterproofing, and their ability to fix wet basements. Also you can always use me as a reference for people who want leaky basements fixed. The French drain and basement waterproofing system show the quality work, honesty, and value of Vulcan’s performance. With all good wishes for your continued success!”
“It is not often we take the time to write to a Company and give a "Congratulations" on a job well done; however, this time we could not let this writing to go by! Although spending this kind of money three weeks before Christmas is saddening, we are delighted to have spent it through Vulcan. The reality of a dry basement (and a fairly clean one due to your employee’s efforts) is truly a Christmas present to us!”
“Job Well Done! To Vulcan Team, Thank you for doing a great job waterproofing our basement. When we were having the problem and not knowing who to turn to, glad it was your company. Sam came to the house to see the basement and find a solution for the on-going basement water problems. We have lived in our house for 10 yrs. and for nine of those years have been getting water, when we have a heavy rain or snow melt. Countless things ruined. Well no more! Vulcan came and did a great job, I know I might sound like an advertisement, but I'm not. This is the real thing. We were tired of cleaning up the water .The crew came to the house, dug a trench with a jackhammer, through the concrete, all around the back of the house and up the sides a little ways, put in a pipe and a sump pump. The job took one day. The crew were very respectful of our house and of us, and they did an excellent clean-up of the area.
Since then we had hurricane Irene and we did not get any water in our basement!
We would definitely recommend Vulcan to do the job. Thank You.”
“To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to take this opportunity to applaud Lee L. and his crew for the professional, thorough and conscientious work they performed for my family in late November.
Although as many as six men were on the job at any one time, our house never seemed under siege. Lee and his men displayed the utmost concern for the property, right down to cleaning the driveway before they left. Though they needed to kick up considerable dust in our basement, they left it as clean –if not cleaner—than it was before they arrived.
In a climate where customer service is a cliché for many businesses, Lee L. and his crew proved that it still exists at Vulcan. Their knowledge of the job at hand was considerable, their desire to work hard was evident, and their interest in seeing it through to the end was refreshing. At no time did anybody in the crew appear unwilling to do anything except make sure we were happy to have chosen Vulcan.
I would heartily recommend Vulcan to anybody who needs to have a basement waterproofed particularly if Lee L. and his crew will be on the job, whatever you are paying these men, it is not enough. As representatives of Vulcan, they set a standard that should make the company proud it employs them.
Sincerely,”
