Diagnosing the problem correctly the first time can only be achieved with experience and expertise. Vulcan Waterproofing has both, in large quantities, to solve my basement water problems. I have a $250,000 finished basement which I entrusted to Vulcan 16 years ago. It was the best money I have ever spent. Just sticking in a sump pump, by someone that has been in business for two months, may not be the answer.
